Last night we returned to Palmer Hall in Fairford to meet the crew of both the 9th Bomb Squadron and the 345th EBS from
Dyess Air Force Base .ππ¦
It was back in November 2021 that Geoffrey was introduced to them when I gave Cap't 'Pistol' Carey a small Giraffe. Pistol flew home to Dyess AFB after that deployment and was always with him on his trips in the Rockwell B1 Lancer aircraft.ππ¦
This deployment a fully suited Geoffrey owned by Ian Conway was given to Pistol, along with Giraffes on Tour Patches to take on board this huge aircraft. He will now be going back to Dyess AFB next week when Cap't Carey pilots the aircraft across the Atlantic, and who himself will return at RIAT next month.ππ¦
The 9th are so keen to embrace the role that Geoffrey does that they are keen to get their own 'Geoffrey's', one of which will be placed above their bar back home. They will also take Geoffrey on other adventures of which we will get to see when images are sent to Ian.ππ¦
There may be another surprise when they depart this week, but not guaranteed.ππ¦
I would like to personally thank all the crew from Dyess Air Force Base who are based at Fairford for this deployment and who have taken Geoffrey to their hearts, but a big personal thank you to 'Pistol' ..thank you Sir. Michael Haynes
